No matter how strange the question sounds, to many people out there, it's not.  With Michael Vick's past of running a dog fighting ring, they feel he should not be entitled to have a pet dog.

There's a lot of controversy surrounding the issue, after Vick brutally killed many dogs in dog fights.

Vick does understand the emotions behind the situation and why some people would be up in arms about him being a pet owner, but should we really judge people by their past?

TMZ:

Vick says, "I understand the strong emotions by some people about our family's decision to care for a pet.  As a father, it is important to make sure my children develop a healthy relationship with animals."

Vick goes on, "I want to ensure that my children establish a loving bond and treat all of God's creatures with kindness and respect.  Our pet is well cared for and loved as a member of our family."
Do people really change?  Some would say they do, some would say they just don't.  I'm willing to give Vick the benefit of the doubt in this case.  Now, if I hear a story about him hacking a dogs ears off and leaving it in a trunk, like the guy in Lubbock did, well there's 2nd chances, but no such thing as 3rds!
