Justin Bieber knows all too well that the spirit of the holiday season comes from giving, not getting. That’s why he stopped into Whitney Elementary in Las Vegas to perform his hits and help out less-fortunate kiddos, which was captured in a segment aired on Wednesday’s ‘Ellen.’

The Biebs seemed incredibly affected when he learned that most of  those on Whitney Elementary’s school roster are homeless, and told the principal that he could see in her eyes how much she loves the kids, and that he admires her for what she’s doing. We’re sure she admires him too. While he was there in December, Bieber dropped off a $100,000 check that will go directly to helping the kids, who certainly need it. As if that wasn’t enough, he topped it off with $100,000 worth of toys so that the children would also have a merry Christmas.

“I’m here to bring smiles to these kids’ faces,” the Biebs told principal Sherrie Gahn, who was in tears over his visit. “For me, I grew up and I didn’t have a lot. We went to food banks to get food for me … If it wasn’t for my grandparents — if I didn’t have my grandparents to help me — these kids have you to help them and it’s really special.

Bieber sang ‘Mistletoe’ and his big hit ‘Baby’ with help from his tiny audience. He even got his own Whitney Elementary Wizards hoodie — and we all know how much he loves hoodies. In the end, even the hardened 17-year-old got a little teary-eyed over the thought of helping kids who may have otherwise not had a very happy new year. We echo Ellen, who later said, “what a great guy!”
