Storming The Capitol A Family Affair For Borger Residents

January 6th was a dark day in America, no matter how you look at it. Whether you agreed or disagreed with what was happening at the Capitol the day people stormed it, you have to admit it was a moment in United States history that was unparalleled.

We had never seen something like this, at least in recent memory where a government building was infiltrated by thousands of people. I understand protests and have no problem with them. However, no matter what side of the fence you or I are on when it comes to a political standpoint, I don't know that this was the best thing to do.

I don't need to rehash what happened that fateful day earlier this year, we all know what happened. There were people from all walks of life, and places across the country that participated in the insurrection.

That included an entire family from Borger. A lot of the people that were a part of it were single individuals or couples, but you didn't hear anything about an entire family turning it into a vacation.

Well, the Munn family out of Borger did exactly that. They've had their day in court, and now they've been sentenced for their role in the insurrection.

The entire family ended up pleading guilty to their role after cutting a plea deal with the feds. I can't even imagine how many different people they're having to cut deals with.

A lot of the sentencing was the same for the family. Things they all share are 36 months probation, $500 restitution, and 60 hours of community service.

Thomas and Dawn Munn were also levied with 14 days in jail, which they will serve in seven-day increments opposite one another so a parent is still present in the household at all times, and they also have 90 days of home confinement to serve.
